Attorney Lutz Auffenberg is founder of FIN LAW. He advises national and international companies from the finance industry regarding all aspects of banking regulatory law as well as non-financial midsize companies in regard to the planning and realisation of funding projects and represents them vis-à-vis BaFin. His core expertise is the legal advisory at the interface of banking and financial services to blockchain technology and other distributed ledger technologies. Lutz Auffenberg is active in this field already since 2012 and lectures on conferences and training events for executive bankers and financial managers. Furthermore, he regularly publishes scientific articles in scientific journals on banking regulation and the law of financial services.
In addition, Attorney Lutz Auffenberg also advises on gambling law and gamification projects. Here, Attorney Lutz Auffenberg assists his clients in the legal planning and design as well as the subsequent realization of projects related to gambling regulation and, if necessary, represents them vis-à-vis the competent Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL) when applying for a gambling license or concession.
Before founding FIN LAW Lutz Auffenberg was head of the banking and capital markets legal department of a Frankfurt-based law firm and was subsequently salary-partner in legal financial services in of one of Germany’s top twenty law firms.
Lutz Auffenberg studied Laws at Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen, Germany and at Université de Liège, Belgium. He was admitted to the German bar in 2012 and is Specialist Attorney in Banking and Capital Markets Law since 2015. The University of London awarded him the title Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Finance Law in 2017.
